Done with Area 1 and 2!

yippee! after 5 days, i am finally done with areas 1 and 2 of my driving lessons. 4 more areas to go! hay... anyway, it's good that i am finally giving this driving thingy a push one more time. yep, my driving lessons started last saturday with 2 days for each area and the last day is reserved for practical.

day 1 - area 1
my instructor was good and friendly enough. his english was fine although there are times that i
have to make the best guess out of it. hehe. our lessons included the VRC (Vehicle Routine Check-up) and what he called as the "beating time". for the VRC, he taught about what are the things to check in a car prior to a long journey or after a long time of not using the car or if you are not familiar with the current status of its oil, motor and fluids. he taught about the basic parts, how to adjust oneself inside the car and the various buttons inside it. =) for the beating time, which i am so puzzled...haha. it was just the starting sound lang pala when you start the car! haha. it was how to start the engine and runing the car smoothly. he also taught me how to make proper estimation and gave me an overview of the next day's lesson.

day 2 - area 1
my instructor's the same malayam folk that was assigned to me yesterday. the lessons for the day were driving around the small and big "8s" and above a piece of wood (aka tabla, hehe). he said that the purpose of the figure 8 exercises is to practice the driver's scissor method of manoeuvering the steering wheel. in addition, the small figure 8, practices the driver's estimation skills on limited spaces. the "tabla" exercise, on the other hand, aside from practicing the driver's estimation skills on very limited spaces it also make sure that your pair of tires are exactly on these spaces! hehe. and how did i fare? well, i had no problem with the figure 8 exercises... but i had difficulty with the estimation exercises, especially for the right-side or estimation on the side away from the driver. =)

day 3 - area 2
i had an arabic instructor for today. he looks suplado but he is not. mabait rin naman and he lets me make a diskarte of my own. our lessons were the 3-point turn and going around the small square-shaped driving area. the 3-point turn practices estimation and correct parking skills. while driving on the square area practices the basic driving necessities of looking into the mirrors and use of the brake and the accelerator.

day 4 - area 2
i think my instructor was a sudanese? also an arabic instructor. he looks nice but is strict. our lessons for the day were still driving around the square area and the zigzag drive. as for the free driving on the square area, he instructed me to drive as close to the cones this time to combine good estimation skills also. the zigzag driving on the other hand, was done to practice driving in reversed way. and how did i fare? well... i did good on the backward zigzag but i run over two cones on the forward zigzag. haha. they better have their insurance!

day 5 - area 2 tower
the exercises for this day were basically the same as the ones yerterday except that i had to do it on my own. meaning, no instructor beside me! i am just being watched over by an instructor that oversees the students from afar. but then, it was no problem... i did good din naman and i am definitely proud of my parking!

all these driving lessons make me go home with a growling stomach and a tired myleen. hehe. kakapagod sobra! imagine that! and it was just an hour and 20 minutes of driving huh! good thing that meeting a fellow student driver makes the driving lessons less stressful. at least, may ka-share ako ng mga things that transpired during those grilling hour.

the area 3 schedule we got will be on June 5! ngeks. sobrang tagal! alam ko pa kaya mga lessons nun? anyway, what to do yani??!!!
